Select > Select similar > Amount of connecting edges.
[Shift][Ctrl][B] Vertex bevel.
[ALT][E] Extrude faces along normals.
Push in. Keep selected.

Pull out. Keep selected.
Press [CTRL][NUM+] twice.
Set pivot to Individual Origins.
[S] scale inward.
[TAB] Object mode.
[RMB] Shade smooth.
[CTRL][1] to add subdiv modifier.
